The FCYC explores several issues facing today's youth and expresses its opinions to the Fulton County Board of Commissioners on the best possible solutions. Youth Commissioners have the opportunity to take part in community service projects, giving them insight into the diverse needs and problems of Fulton County citizens. The program is designed to strengthen the leadership skills of participants, increase interest in human services, and create a means of communication between community leaders and youth in Fulton County.

Since its creation in 1999, the FCYC has worked diligently to influence policies, programming and legislation related to children and families. The Fulton County Youth Commission typically opens applications in May, towards the end of the school year.
